Aaron's Summer Care Guide

Aaron's Summer Care Guide

Perfect for December - February

Summer! The hottest season of them all and the one you spend most your time just watering.

I like to water my trees each morning around 7am. Our off-site bonsai nursery is set-up on an automated watering system, while at my home collection, I prefer to water by hand each morning. This helps to manually adjust water levels, depending varieties etc.

For the start of summer, I do plenty of pruning on most varieties in development, all that spring growth gets a bit of a tidy up as well as choosing what I may leave for sacrificial branches, what will later be removed in winter.

During the end of Summer, I like to do another hit of organic fertiliser to push any autumn growth required and help build up root health for the Winter period.
